Clear the air, PM

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh must clear the air on the ongoing controversy over allocation of spectrum for second-generation (2G) mobile telephony. Not only to supplement the joint efforts by finance minister Pranab Mukherjee and home minister P Chidambaram to put an end to the controversy over a recently-disclosed finance ministry note on the subject but also to lead the way to end the climate of suspicion and cynicism about government functioning in the country.
