JPC upset Finance Ministry note wasn’t provided, wants explanation

The Finance Ministry note, which suggested that Home Minister P Chidambaram could have prevented the 2G spectrum scam by insisting upon an auction when he was the Finance Minister, rocked the proceedings of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on Tuesday. Consequently, the JPC decided to summon Finance Secretary R S Gujral and Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs R Gopalan for an explanation for withholding it from the panel and defer all proceedings till they appear before it on October 12.
