Cash for vote: Kulkarni in jail, BJP up in arms

Sudheendra Kulkarni, a former aide of BJP leader L K Advani, was arrested in the 2008 cash-for-vote scam on Tuesday, becoming the sixth person to be taken in custody. Special Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal turned down Kulkarni’s plea for interim bail, and fixed hearing on his plea for regular bail on October 1. Till then he will be in judicial custody in Tihar jail.
