Raja plea may block PC’s escape route

Former Telecom Minister A Raja on Tuesday threw a spanner in the Centre’s desperate attempt in Supreme Court to extricate its “valuable” Minister, P Chidambaram, from the 2G scam mess. While the Centre opposed any further monitoring of the probe by the court, Raja’s counsel Sushil Kumar sprung a surprise on the Centre, the CBI and the SC by suggesting that so long as investigation proceeded from one FIR, any pending investigation by CBI would offer an opportunity for court to monitor the case.
