Facts demolish Govt defence

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee’s defence of his beleaguered colleague P Chidambaram is based on claims, which do not stand even cursory factual scrutiny. On Thursday evening, making out a case defending Chidambaram, the Finance Minister claimed that “the policy of the Government in 2007-2008 was continuation of the policy adopted in October 2003 and was reiterated by TRAI.”
