At the root of unrest lies unemployment
A society that fails to provide jobs for its citizens will see political unrest, sinking tax revenue and soaring debt. What do the Arab Spring, the London riots and the Greek debt crisis have in common? They have all happened in environments of rampant joblessness. In fact, it might not be far off to say that a big share of the world's political and economic turmoil is fuelled in one way or another by unemployment.
