Sushma rebuts Mehbooba, Omar smirks

Showering encomiums on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his “Muslim friendliness and secular credentials” seems to have cost People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti dear. Even as the PDP leader denied having praised Modi at the recent National Integration Council meeting and described Sushma Swaraj, who quoted Mehbooba speech on Monday at the conclusion of Modi’s three-day Sadbhavana fast, as a “liar”, the Leader of Opposition defended her comments, while Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah asked his bitter political foe from the PDP to own up to the “praise-Modi” speech.
