Dinakaran slyly escapes impeachment

It is hard to imagine a situation wherein a corrupt official voluntarily demits office and his departure is anything less than much welcome. Yet, when the tainted Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court, Justice PD Dinakaran, resigned on Friday, there is little sense of relief. For Mr Dinakaran, against whom anti-corruption proceedings had been initiated, is now effectively beyond the reach of the law.
