Jammu-Srinagar national highway shut due to landslides in Udhampur

The Jammu-Srinagar national highway was closed for traffic for the third consecutive day on Thursday (August 28, 2025) due to multiple landslides triggered by heavy rains in the Udhampur-Ramban belt, officials said.The The death toll in the rain-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir rose to 41 on Wednesday (August 27, 2025), with the Vaishno Devi landslip accounting for 34 of the lives lost.
