Unrest in China’s ‘Wild West’ still haunts army, leaders

The situation in the Chinese-controlled Xinjiang region of China and in the so-called Tibet Autonomous Region continues to haunt the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which is observing the 90th anniversary of its founding this month, and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), which is observing the 60th anniversary of its occupation of Tibet.
