How long will the Devyani Khobragade episode trouble the India-US equation? From the trivial (restrictions on American Embassy Club in New Delhi) to the serious (cancellation of official visits and disagreements on a negotiated settlement), the issue has snowballed. Even if the immediate matter is sorted out, a larger paralysis could well extend into the second half of 2014. Frankly, it is necessary to assess what went wrong in the past two or three years.
