Principal and principles: Why St Xavier's principal was wrong to write his letter

The Jesuit priest Frazer Mascarenhas, who is the principal of Mumbai's storied St Xavier's College, is in a spot of bother. Last week he wrote an email to his students just before the city was due to vote. In the email, he shared his opinion about Narendra Modi's "Gujarat model" as well as of various schemes of the Congress-led central government.
