After apex court rap, SP regime stands exposed

There was always never any doubt that the Government of Uttar Pradesh had  failed to prevent and contain the Muzaffarnagar riots. However, with the Supreme Court now formally holding the Akhilesh Yadav-led State regime accountable for the communal violence that claimed some 60 lives and displaced thousands last year, one would have hoped that strict action would be taken against those responsible for the bloodshed.
