Now Thomas opts out of lokpal panel

The Centre's efforts to set up a Lokpal suffered their biggest blow so far with former Supreme Court judge K.T. Thomas refusing to take charge as Chairperson of the search committee. Thomas said governmental interference had compromised panel's independence to choose capable members.
