BJP makes good case to change mechanics of caste-based reservation

Sanjay Paswan, head of BJP's scheduled caste morcha, feels there is a case to be made for revisiting the mechanics of reservation for dalits with the aim of widening and deepening benefits among them. It is a welcome move. Reservation on caste basis started during the days of British Raj and was extended by independent India. Given reservation's long history, there is a convincing case to revisit some of its aspects.
