The fading of political dynasties

Some days ago, the knives were out in the open as the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) family saga reached a new nadir. Animosity between the “Thalaiva’s” (leader’s) siblings took a murderous twist. Dynasties are undergoing a strange churning even north of the Vindhyas. Uttar Pradesh is known to have not one but four “chief ministers”, all from the Yadav clan. In Assam, Tarun Gogoi’s blanket support for his son is creating unprecedented fissures in one of the few remaining Congress bastions.
