FAA raps DGCA; downgrades Indian aviation safety ratings

In a setback to the India’s aviation sector safety ratings have been downgraded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to the second category and this is expected to affect expansion of flights by Indian carriers to the US. The downgrading of safety ranking brings it below Pakistan and on par with countries like Ghana and Bangladesh.
