Delhi power tariffs hiked even as long cuts loom

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has gone from half-keeping his promise of halving domestic power tariffs in Delhi to bringing half the Capital to the verge of a dark age. Barring some last-minute heroics of the financial kind, the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is set to cut power supply to BSES Yamuna Power which will in turn cut supply by up to a forewarned eight to ten hours a day in East and Central Delhi.
