Haryana Government’s welfare schemes are only on paper. Nothing reaches the poor

Judging by the full-page advertisements released by the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government on January 1, Haryana’s population is in a state of bliss with free medical care and medicines, cattle loans, loan interest waivers, crop insurance and what have you. The list of other freebies — for labourers, chowkidars, anganwadi workers, women, army personnel, government employees — in the “Bonanza worth ₹3,000 crore...” is endless.
