‘Old currency recall to curb black money’

RBI deputy governor K C Chakrabarty said withdrawing pre-2005 currency notes would weed out counterfeits, curb black money and act as a disincentive for cash hoarders. He was speaking on the sidelines of a panel discussion titled - 'Mobilize and monetize gold for the benefit of the Indian economy' at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) on Friday.
