Precious little is known about Priyanka Gandhi's brief and impromptu encounter last Tuesday with senior Congress managers who had gathered at her brother Rahul's residence — in his absence — to deliberate on the tour programmes of the president and vice-president of the party. Yet it generated much-frenzied speculation that party bigwigs tried to scotch. More revealing, however, was how they justified her powwow with them.
