A plan to spur manufacturing

The baseball star Yogi Berra once said that “you must know where you are going or you will end up somewhere else”. India’s manufacturing contributes only 16% to India’s gross domestic product (GDP), much less than manufacturing does for China (30%). It is even less than that for Germany (21%) and Japan (20%), countries with much higher wages and strong currencies.
