Waqf Bill runs into Law Ministry hurdle

The plan of the UPA government to bring a stand-alone legislation to declare Waqf properties public premises to protect them from encroachment and illegal occupation has run into rough weather, with the Union Ministry of Law opposing some key clauses of the proposed Bill.
