US Senate moots 5-year plan to enhance security ties with India
The US Senate’s powerful Armed Services Committee has asked the Pentagon to come out with a five-year plan for enhancing US-India security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region and globally. Headed by Democrat Carl Levin and with Republican John McCain as its ranking member, the committee has asked the Defence Secretary to submit a report by November 1, with recommendations to improve and expand the bilateral security ties in four broad areas, along with a detailed assessment of the current state of bilateral security cooperation.
