TRAI calls for steep cut in 2G auction price

Telecom stocks such as Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular Ltd rallied over 4 per cent each on Tuesday, after the telecom regulator has recommended slashing by up to 60 per cent the base price of airwaves used by GSM operators that will be auctioned in the near future.
