Not easy to kill the golden ghoos
Anyone who has tried getting a ration card, death certificate or just their pension is likely to have experienced what a recent global survey highlights . One in two citizens interviewed in India admitted to paying a bribe to access public services and institutions in the last 12 months, according to the Global Corruption Barometer, 2013 released by international civil society organization Transparency International this week. This is significantly higher than the global average where 27% of people polled across 107 countries admitted to bribery.
