Banking licence aspirants: How the big names stack up

The Reserve Bank of India on Monday received 26 applications for new banking licences, including from many large corporate houses and those in the financial services business. Lesser known names are in the race, too. Here's a look at the strengths of some of these companies and the areas where they might need to pull up their socks.
