Rupee in free fall: Dips to near one-year low
The rupee weakened further today due to month-end dollar demand. Besides, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) pulled out of the domestic markets and this also led to the slide. The rupee ended at 56.51, almost near a one-year low, compared with the previous close of 56.38 a dollar. The currency had ended at 56.81 a dollar on June 28 last year.
