CRR cut would have helped ease liquidity squeeze: Experts
A cut in the cash reserve ratio could have brought down the borrowing costs instead of the repo rate cut by the Reserve Bank of India. A repo rate cut does not help much when liquidity is tight in the banking system. India's central bank on Tuesday cut the key repo rate, or the rate at which banks borrow from it, by 25 basis points to 7.50%.
