Govt prods RBI to bring down rates

The government on Friday put the rate cut ball in the Reserve Bank of India's court with finance minister P Chidambaram saying the government had done its bit on fiscal consolidation. He said RBI will factor in the path shown in the budget while taking a call on interest rate in the policy review later this month.
