Uneasy flows the Cauvery

Will the notification of the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal put an end to a battle between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka that has gone on for almost 150 years? Not likely. Tamil Nadu and its chief minister, J. Jayalalithaa, have finally won a legal victory. The opposition parties had attacked Jayalalithaa for going to the Supreme Court. Now, that has turned out to be the right move. Predictably, protests have begun in Karnataka.
