Economy's macro woes worsening

Two weeks before the presentation of budget 2013, the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance faced fresh macroeconomic challenges after data released on Tuesday showed that factory output contracted in December and consumer price inflation accelerated in January to a 13-month high.
