Peeking into the market's crystal ball

All economic parameters belie the level at which some of the global indices have reached. Bulge bracket liquidity is driving markets higher and higher. Take the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which crossed 14,000 for the first time in six years or the BSE Sensex, which has ramped up to over 20,000. In January alone, foreign institutional investors made net purchases of Rs19,197 crore in the Indian equity market.
