Bengal remains an industry-unfriendly State

In the middle of the last decade, the then Left Front government in West Bengal planned to build an expressway connecting the industrial township of Haldia with NH-34, near Kolkata. Apart from easing goods movement, it would have reduced the travelling time between the two cities from nearly three hours to less than an hour.
