Empowerment vs entitlement

The aam aadmi season is again with us. It will continue until the budget session is over and during this period the entire political class will either claim to have acted in the interest of this elusive entity - the common man or be criticised for not doing so. A majority of policies and vast volumes of public expenditure are supposedly spent on improving the lot of the aam aadmi.
