What stops Govt from enforcing KG basin gas contract?

Even as India reels under severe power shortage and the country’s growth rate continues to plummet, the Government has allowed Reliance Industries to violate its contract to supply gas from the KG basin off the Andhra Pradesh coast and sharply reduce the outflow of gas from its wells, thereby adversely impacting production of electricity as well as cause a huge loss to the exchequer.
