Spare Vodafone, go after Hutch if need be: Shome

The Parthasarathi Shome committee has voted against retrospective applicability of the recently amended law on indirect transfer of assets. However, assuming that the government might still opt for retrospectivity given the high stakes in the Vodafone case, the panel suggested a slew of clarifications that would substantially reduce the irritant nature of the law, regardless of whether past cases remain within its domain.
