Even as he launched a counterattack against allegations of his group being favoured in allocations of coal blocks, NaveenJindal quietly opened another flank last month: public relations. Jindal hired the Perfect Relations stable, run by DilipCherian, to manage PR for Jindal Steel & Power, the Rs 18,151 crore flagship of his metals and minerals empire. For at least two years before that, PR was something the group's corporate communications, or the suave chairman with a foot in politics, mostly handled themselves.
