It is the season for suspicions coming true. For a time, it has been the apprehension of many people in West Bengal that some of the districts of the state had become arsenals for illegal weapons. It was also evident that such stockpiling of weapons could not have been possible without political patronage and the tacit complicity of the police and the district administration.
