NAC suggests jail for officials who don't stop riots

Public officials who fail to prevent and control communal violence could soon be liable to be imprisoned for up to five years, if a new draft of the Communal and Targeted Violence Bill prepared by the Sonia Gandhi-headed National Advisory Council becomes law.
