Media-stung Prez gives up defence land

Stung by media expose and consequent public outrage at her cornering two prime plots of defence A1 land in Pune’s Khadki cantonment, President Pratibha Patil on Friday desperately tried to salvage her dented image by foregoing the land on which her post-retirement home was being built. Succumbing to pressure brought on her by The Pioneer and a section of other media through their consistent expose of the manner in which she manipulated the force that she commands, the President attributed her decision to forego the two plots of land to some “fallacious observations” made in the media on the issue.
