The ignominy was matched in proportion by the extraordinary spectacle of ministers walking out during the Motion of Thanks to the President's speech. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was forced to sack railway minister Dinesh Trivedi - though by his own admission, the minister had presented a rail budget with a 'vision' - and accept Mukul Roy in his stead.
