The Congress managed to save the government by a whisker in the Lok Sabha on Thursday afternoon. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was to reply to the motion of thanks to the presidential address to which as many as 2,700 amendments had been moved by various Opposition as well as UPA allies including Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
