With Congress on back foot, BJP likely to step up offensive

The results of the five state assembly elections—the Congress suffered defeats in three—may see the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) becoming a more aggressive opposition party in Parliament, say analysts, but its own performance (it lost ground in Punjab and Uttarakhand, and gained nothing in Uttar Pradesh) should lead to some introspection.
