Centre clamps down on NGOs, deports German

The Government on Tuesday swung into action mode on the issue of foreign-funded NGOs protesting against the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant in Tamil Nadu. It registered cases against four NGOs allegedly found diverting funds to fuel the protests and deported a German national, who was on a tourist visa, for his “active involvement” in the anti-nuclear agitation.
