Early last month, in an unprecedented move, army chief General V K Singh moved a petition before the Supreme Court against the ministry of defence over his age row. On February 3, the Supreme Court said the manner in which General V K Singh’s statutory complaint was rejected by the government “appears to be vitiated” and asked the government to withdraw its December 30, 2011, order on the same.
