The Gujarat Congress finds itself with egg on its face, with a pullout distributed by the party with all local newspapers on Republic Day describing Chief Minister Narendra Modi as “a master organiser and astute election strategist”. The one-page pullout highlighted the contributions made by different chief ministers in making Gujarat “a progressive state from birth”, and was purportedly meant to counter Modi’s frequent chest-thumping for it.
