Rushdie session to be held via video link from New York
Booker prize winning writer Salman Rushdie on Friday ended the debate about his participation in the Jaipur Literature Festival with a statement saying he won't attend because of a threat to his life. TOI first reported on January 17 that the author had been persuaded not to attend in light of elections in UP and Rajasthan government's attempts to mollify Muslims after Gopalgarh riots last year in which nine people were killed.
