Allies responsible for policy inertia, not opposition!

Congress president Sonia Gandhi may have blamed the Opposition for the slow movement of the government's legislative agenda, but the real trouble appears to stem from within the alliance.  The lack of unanimity on policy matters was again on display on Wednesday when the government was forced to withdraw the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority bill in the Lok Sabha. On this bill, Congress had the numerical edge following BJP's backing for the legislation.
