Project UP: Cong showers pre-poll goodies

Congress on Sunday sought to cover both the western and eastern flanks of poll-bound Uttar Pradesh by inducting Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh as Cabinet minister and clearing a Rs 2,350 crore package for weavers aimed at wooing voters,especially Muslims,in the eastern part of the state.A tie-up with Singh is expected to improve the partys prospects in western UP.
